<Harold> What's this about Rodrigues and Hilario's "erotic" picture?
<Harold>
<Filipe> Arthur Rodrigues is a citizen of Reunion. He was a spy in Porto Claro, few months ago. He was discover because he was using the same UIN of the ICQ in PC and Reunion.
<Filipe>
<Harold>
<Filipe> Hilário had a picture of his penis in a site of his own, in a old website. And - I guess Aguiar or Matt - found this picture.
<Filipe>
<Harold> But why are you telling me this?
<Harold> You mean the mail on the Orange National List?
<Filipe> Because they are indicates in "Big Mistake". - "mancada".
<Filipe>
<Harold>
<Harold>
<Filipe> Ok.
<Filipe>
<Harold> Let me explain... I read very little of the all-Portuguese mail on the Orange National List. If something seems important either to the politics of the country or to my language project, I will run it through AltaVista, otherwise, I just delete it. But when a thread gets fairly long, I start to wonder if I have missed something important...
<Harold>
<Filipe> As I told, this mail is about a micronation award for the best of this semester. We invite a person from each lusophone micronation and I like to invite you to be the juror of Orange.
<Filipe>
<Harold> Right.
<Harold>
<Harold> You want a Portuguese-illiterate to be juror in a Lusophone competition??!
<Harold>
<Filipe> No, I want a fair and sense person, an inteligent man. :-)
<Filipe>
<Harold> Thanks for the compliment... My question is, can I be fair and sensible if I cannot read (very well) the content?
<Harold>
<Filipe> That's because I'm here, to explain you about the content.
<Harold>
<Harold>
<Filipe> And you don't need to understand portuguese to choose the best official site or the most important
<Harold> THAT is true...
<Harold>
<Harold> All right, hold on a minute...
<Harold>
<Harold> I do not like to reward porno, even backhandedly, so I would vote for the Rodrigues affair as the mancado.
<Harold>
<Filipe> event.
<Filipe>
<Filipe> OK!
<Filipe>
<Harold> What does revelacão-pessoa mean?
<Harold> Juanita has made quite a presence with us. The others I have not heard of.
<Harold>
<Filipe> New person, new important person
<Filipe> Alexander creates a micronation too, as Juanita - Republic of Econia.
<Filipe> Rui Barbosa was a citizen of Reunion, now in Ludonia, that was ellected President of the Assembly, one of Reunion's parlaments.
<Filipe>
<Harold> I have heard little from Barbosa. I am familiar with Econia, but I would still say that Juanita Casteñata has made the biggest mark in micronations.
<Harold>
<Filipe> Great!
<Filipe>
<Filipe> Acontecimento means most important event.
<Filipe> - The born of 10 new lusophones
<Filipe> - the populational boom in PC and Reunion
<Filipe> - the Act of Union - Orange/Reuniao
<Filipe>
<Filipe> You forget the most important event.
<Filipe>
<Harold> The next 2 categories are new micronation and best press organ. I am not sure how to vote on those...
<Harold>
<Harold> Yes I did forget, you are right! How much of a population boom did PC and Reunion receive? I guess I would say that was more newsworthy than our Act of Union.overall...
<Harold>
<Filipe> They had 70/80 citizens and now has 300/400, each one. And it happened in one month, because a brazilian newspaper made a article about them (remember that's happened in PC, last year?).
<Filipe>
<Harold> Remember it well...!
<Harold>
<Filipe> I come to PC because of this, in may, 97.
<Filipe>
<Harold> Population boom.
<Harold>
<Filipe> So, your choice is...?
<Filipe> Ok.
<Filipe>
<Filipe> New Micronation.
<Filipe> Principality of Marajo, the country of Juanita.
<Filipe>
<Filipe> Ludonia has former reunions, that created a new country looking for democracy - like us. :-)
<Filipe>
<Filipe> Rui Barbosa is, now, the Prime Minister of them.
<Filipe>
<Harold> I have seen the sites for Marajo and Econia. What can you tell me about Ludonia? Which country seems to have the most active political system? Radio Free Marajo... :) My vote is for Marajo again.
<Harold>
<Filipe> Hummm...in the semester, Marajo. Active political system, cultural and in foreing affairs.
<Filipe>
<Filipe> Best press organ.
<Filipe>
<Harold> I find MicroNews and Laranja Mecânica to be essentially similar, though your paper is much more readable. I am not familiar with the others.
<Harold>
<Harold> (MicroNews uses a very hard to read layout)
<Harold>
<Filipe> The other have only e-mail issues.
<Filipe>
<Harold> That settles it! Laranja Mecânica. A paper that cannot even muster a website cannot be serious!!!
<Harold>
<Filipe> Thank you. :-)))
<Filipe>
<Harold> I have complained to Pedro for years that Diário Portoclarense should be online, even if only in Portuguese!
<Filipe> He'll change it next year. Microland we'll publishes the DP on a website to him.
<Filipe>
<Harold>
<Harold> What do you think of TheIsland's site?
<Harold>
<Filipe> A good site, but with no difference from the others.
<Filipe>
<Harold> Other than Orange's, which do you feel most completely describes its micronation?
<Harold>
<Filipe> Reunion. It is complete, in all the ways. It's too slow to download, but it's nice and complete.
<Filipe>
<Harold> In some ways, Reunion's is too much, but I vote for Reunion (giving us a strong second in the category).
<Harold>
<Filipe> :-)
<Filipe> Our new site is famous. No one else has a site in shockwave as Orange.
<Filipe>
<Harold> :-)
<Harold>
<Filipe> Oh, you forgot private website. Sites that belongs to parties, corps etc.
<Filipe>
<Harold> I'm not sure how to go on that. I think including MicroNews in that category is a bit unfair to the category. I am not especially impressed with Global's. I think I will abstain on that one.
<Harold>
<Filipe> It was the most difficult category to choose the contests.
<Filipe>
<Harold> There is one more category -- that of micronational individual.
<Harold>
<Filipe> Yes, the most important person.
<Filipe>
<Harold> I could make a strong case either for the Emperor or for Vicente Camara. Vicente, because he has "invented" scholarly history to micronationalism, which I think is a valuable contribution. I need to contact him to obtain the English- and French-language rights for Éditions Tisserand :-)
<Harold>
<Filipe> Vicente worked a lot, in a lot of ways. He was a great senator in PC, create a good news - "Correio Oriental".
<Filipe>
<Filipe> Oh, send him a mail, he'll be happy to contributes to Éditions Tisserand.
<Filipe>
<Filipe> Yes, just a second.
<Filipe>
<Harold> Do you know his e-mail address?
<Harold> Got it. Thanks!
<Harold>
<Filipe> Vicente Arruda Camara Rodrigues <kalu@br.homeshopping.com.br>
<Filipe>
<Filipe> Ok! He deserver your vote, for sure.
<Filipe>
<Harold> My vote is for Vicente Camara. I might agree that the Emperor has been more visible intermicronationally, but he has always been highly visible! Pleasure!
<Harold>
